Finally, you will reach the highlight of the day,Jokulsarlon, where you will be immediately taken within its ethereal ambience, glittering icebergs, incredible panoramic views and lively wildlife, usually including curious sealsand dive bombing Arctic Skuas. You will also be able to walk between the icebergs on the so-called“Diamond” or “Crystal” beach. This is a black sand beach at the coastline near the Glacier Lagoon and, very often, there are many icebergs washed up on to the beach which makes for a spectacular view. In the Skaftafell National Park area if the road conditions allow you will make a stop at the outlet glacier, Svinafellsjokull, where you will be privy to incredible views over the surrounding area, as well as gain valuable insight into this country’s fascinating geological makeup.
