Chianti Forest Hike and Fiesole
Come and enjoy an off the beaten path experience on this original tour that will take you away from the typical sights of tourists and crowds. We created this experience to really satisfy the need of travellers to see something authentic and local, from the visit of the Etruscan town of Fiesole (established before Florence!) to the lunch in our favourite local Trattoria and the visit to the cellar of a rustic family-run Chianti winery.
Itinerary
After meeting with your guide at our office in the Oltrarno area of Florence, you will hop on our vehicle towards a quick panoramic stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for the best view of Florence, to then head towards the ancient town of Fiesole. From here we will start our hiking section of the Tour (just a 5 miles walk, so suitable for most people and ages), that will take us in the park of the Ceceri Mountain, where we will enjoy great views of local nature and wildlife. On this mountain, local Florentine stone makers use to come to gather the local stone "Pietra Serena", that was used to build most houses and monuments in Florence. At the top of the mountain, we will also see where Leonardo da Vinci firstly tried his flying machine in 1506. Also, we will see the Chianti Colli Fiorentini's olive groves and vineyards and after having lunch in a local trattoria we will get the chance to visit a family-run Chianti farm and learn about wine and extra virgin olive oil making in the region. This tour is a complete experience of Tuscany's most authentic soul.
