Northern Albania and Kosovo share a common past and culturally are so much alike. The dialect spoken called Geg dialect includes all northern Albania, Kosovo and beyond. We will start the tour in Tirana and head north toward Valbona valley and Dukagjini area in Kosovo. We end the tour in Tirana. We here get the opportunity to meet and experience the village life. Explore the immense beauty of the city sightseeing, nature the food.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer Airport to Tirana The group is met at the airport by our Guide and Driver and transfer to the hotel in Tirana. After a short time in the hotel, we take a city walk to visit the centre of Tirana and Et’hem Bey Mosque. Dinner in Rogner restaurant and Overnight stay at Tirana. Day 2: Tirana to Marikaj to Kruja to Rubik Come join us for breakfast in Tirana. Today we start the day by visiting the History Museum in Tirana. After the visit we head to the agritourism centre of Marikaj where a nice lunch arrangement waits for us. Next, we travel to the city of Kruja where we can visit the Castle and Skanderbeg Museum. At the end of our visits, we transfer to Rubik where will be accommodated. Dinner in Rubik “Marubi” restaurant and enjoy your overnight stay at Rubik. Day 3: Rubik to Prizren to Peje Come join us for breakfast in Rubik. We travel today through the Nation’s Highway toward Prizren, Kosovo. In Prizren, we will visit the Sinan Pasha mosque, the League of Prizren and old city centre. Lunch on group expenses. We continue driving to Peja to visit the Patriarchate of Peja. Dinner in Peja “ Zenel Beu Tower” restaurant and enjoy your overnight stay at Peja. Day 4: Peje to Gjakove to Valbonne Enjoy your breakfast in Peja. Today we visit in Decani Serbian Orthodox Monastery enlisted in UNESCO world heritage list. Next, we drive to Gjakova and have lunch in the restaurant “Carshia e Jupave” on group expenses. In the afternoon we cross the border into Albania. On the way to Valbonne, we can stop and take some pictures of Valbonne river. Dinner in Valbona “Margjeka” restaurant and enjoy your overnight stay at Valbonne. Day 5: Valbonne to Kukaj to Valbonne Enjoy your breakfast in Valbonne. Today we will walk for about 1 hour to Kukaj village where we will learn more about the life of the local shepherds. We will meet with Tahir, a local, who lives in Kukaj. At his house, we will have lunch as well. After lunch, we can take some time to explore the area on our own. Next, we walk back to our hotel and have a relaxed afternoon. During tonight’s dinner and stay Overnight at Valbonne. Day 6. Valbonne to Fierze to Koman to Shkoder Come join us for breakfast in Valbonne. We travel by our minibus until Fierza to catch the boat that sails for about 2 hours through Koman Lake. In Koman lake have been built 3 of the most important hydropower plants in Albania with an installed power of 600 MW. Not far away from the Power Plant are situated the Koman Tumuli, a very important necropolis which has helped the Albanian archaeologist understand better how the ancient Illyrians transitioned into the nowadays Albanian population. After this interesting experience, we stop for lunch in restaurant Dea. After lunch, we drive towards Shkoder where before entering the city we can visit Rozafa castle, which dates back to 4th century BC. Dinner in San Francisco restaurant dinner on group expenses and stay overnight at Shkoder. Day 7: Shkoder to Durres to Berat Enjoy your breakfast in Shkoder. Today we head to Durres the 2nd biggest city in Albania, which dates back to 7th century BC to visit the Roman Amphitheatre. After the visit, we go for lunch in a characteristic restaurant in Shkembi I Kavajes-Durres. Next, we resume driving to Berat to visit the UNESCO city. First, we will visit the castle, which dates back to 5th century BC and after that, we will take a walk through the Mangalem quarter which gave a distinctive look to the city’s architecture. Dinner on group expenses and join us for an overnight stay at Berat. Day 8: Berat to Elbasan to Tirana Your breakfast is arranged in Berat. Our journey will take us to Elbasan where we will visit the Castle, which dates back from 15th century and Saint Mary church in the castle. Next, we go for lunch group expenses in one of the restaurants in Elbasan. After lunch, we drive to Tirana. Dinner in restaurant Sky Tower and enjoy your overnight stay at Tirana. Day 9. Tirana to Dajti Mountain to Tirane Your breakfast is arranged in Tirana. Today we take an excursion to Dajti Mountain by cable car. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Dajti Mountain and visit the site. From there we can enjoy a nice panorama of Tirana city. Lunch is organized in the site as well. Kthimi Mbasdite-Ne Tirane. Dinner in Tirana on group expenses and enjoy your overnight at Tirana. Day 10: Tirana Airport Mother Teresa Your breakfast is arranged in Tirana. Transfer to the airport. End of the Program.
