Tassie Tours Tasmania

2 day tour - Two of Tasmania's best

Hobart 2 days

Day One - The best of Hobart.

Whilst the streets are quiet, we will take you on a city highlights tour en route to Hobart’s spectacular backdrop, Kunanyi (Mt. Wellington). Breathe in the famous pristine Tasmanian air as we drive up the 1272m to the pinnacle where you will be greeted by the very best view of Hobart and surrounds. After you take that perfect Instagram worthy selfie, you would have no doubt worked up an appetite! It is now time for Salamanca Market (Saturday only). This world class market offers the best of Tassie culture - art, produce, buskers, souvenirs, beverages and much more!

After 90 minutes of exploring the market, we will make our way to Richmond. An iconic township rich in convict history, sandstone and colonial buildings and home to Australia‚Äôs oldest bridge and catholic church. The afternoon presents you with two options. The first is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you can hand feed kangaroos and get up close and personal with all the unique Tasmanian and Australian wildlife, including the famous Tasmanian Devil - an absolute highlight (even for a local!).

The second option is MONA Museum - the largest privately owned museum in the southern hemisphere! Known and loved for its quirky and strange art, this museum also offers restaurants and bars that showcase their local wine and Tasmanian produce. Enjoy wandering around this amazing world renowned museum of old and new art.

If both options sound equally appealing, we are happy to cater for both! This will incur an additional fee of $50.00. After you finish your time at MONA, the MONA ferry will take you back to Salamanca where you will have to make your own way back to your accommodation.

Day Two - Bruny Island

Arguably Tasmania's best day trip! At the end of this day, you will understand why the tourist numbers have doubled in the past 4 years! Bruny Island has a little bit of everything mainland Tasmania has - world class beaches, national parks, rugged coastline and native wildlife matched with the finest local produce from the ocean and the land.

While its impossible to do everything in one day, we have designed various tours to fit in with the day‚Äôs weather conditions so we can provide the most enjoyable experience. You can expect an active morning with nature walks, albino wallaby spotting, spectacular scenery lookouts, exploring pristine beaches and lagoon (swimming optional). This tour takes you off the beaten track and into areas that are only accessible by walking tracks that only locals know about.

After an adventurous morning, it will be time to pull it back a gear as we head to the Bruny Hotel for lunch (takeaway - at own cost) where we will eat down at the beach or on the picnic tables. After lunch, unwind and relax as we sample some award winning local produce. Berries, chocolate fudge, cheese, beverages and oysters are all possibilities (time pending and at own cost)!
