Meet your guide at the Medellin meeting point in the morning. From there, you’ll travel directly to Peñol Rock (La Piedra del Peñol) in the town of Guatapé—the journey lasts around 2 hours. There, you’ll have the chance to climb the 742 steps that lead to the summit of the distinctly-shaped rock and soak up panoramic views of Lake Guatapé below. Once you’ve caught your breath at the bottom, you’ll then travel a short distance to board a boat for a ride through the Peñol Guatapé Dam, for a fresh perspective of the area from the water. Finally, you’ll have time to explore Plazoleta de los Zocalos—a craft market and the town’s most colorful enclave, made famous by its umbrellas. Once you’ve picked up your souvenirs, you’ll then board the bus and head back to the original meeting point in Medellin.
