Kerala Muslim Cuisine with a Riverfront View
Not only is Shamim one of the warmest, gentlest souls, but as an avid traveler (she recently went on an Antartica expedition), one of the most fascinating. She lives in a beautiful home with a charming garden overflowing with fruit and orchids.
What to expect:
Cooking Experience:
Learn to prepare 2-3 traditional Muslim Kerala dishes in Shamim's kitchen along with help from her loyal staff. You will learn to make dishes from rich and creamy seafood curries to light and refreshing vegetable accompaniments.
Meal:
After your welcome drink of garden-fresh lime juice or refreshing coconut water, you will be served an array of dishes in the traditional Kerala Muslim cuisine that may include chattipathiri (a traditional Malayali Muslim dish of layered seasoned beef and pancakes), pathiri (round paper-thin, rice flour bread), ney chor (a fragrant rice lightly coated in ghee), sharkapuli (an addictively delicious mango and tamarind accompaniment to the rice), Malabar chicken curry made with Kerala spices and coconut milk, and to end, semiya payasam, cardamom-infused milk with vermicelli, raisins and cashews. Choose a starting time, either: 10:00am or 5:00pm.
