Split History and Gastro Tour
Look for a person outside of Diocletian’s Palace holding an orange spoon to begin your tour of Split’s cuisine, set against the city’s historical scenery. Follow your guide a very short distance to reach Split’s Green Market, where you’ll sample meats, cheeses, and “peka” bread, as you learn more about the city’s seasonal produce. With your appetite awoken, walk through the Split Old Town to a tavern that specializes in seafood and pasta, for more tasty dishes, this time accompanied by a local wine. Make sure you have room for more food though as you continue to the city’s oldest pastry shop for gelato and some sweet treats made from old family recipes. It’s there not far from the Riva Promenade that you’ll say goodbye to your guide.
