The Fjallabak area is huge and the route possibilities endless. One of our favorite is the one taking us through Flj√≥tshl√≠d valley, from where the route rises, soon entering remote wilderness. Passing Einhyrningur ‚Äúfinger peak‚Äù and Markaflj√≥tsglj√∫fur‘s technicolor canyon is magnificent.

Beautifully sculpted landscapes, vivid green with moss carpeting, lead through √ûver√°rbotnar. Unbridged, grey, glacial meltwater rivers, from Myrdalsj√∂kull, are crossed before entering M√¶lifellssandur‘s black ash deserts.
