Wasgamuwa National Park Shared Safari
Begin your safari with a 5:30 a.m. pickup for full-day and morning tours, or a 2:30 p.m. pickup for evening tours. If your accommodation is located more than 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the Wasgamuwa National Park entrance gate, hotel pickup is not available, so plan to make your own way to the park prior to your selected tour time. Upon arrival, board a Jeep with your private guide and group of up to six people and begin your safari. Wasgamuwa National Park is known for attracting fewer visitors than other parks in the area, making for an uncrowded safari experience focused on wildlife. Save time at the gate and upgrade your tour to include admission tickets. As you ride through the park, learn about the local plants and animals from your guide, who will help you spot species such as marsh elephants, water buffalos, and painted storks in their natural habitat. The park also houses reptile populations, native birds, and over 50 species of butterflies. The morning safari finishes at 8:30 a.m., and the evening and full-day safari finish at 5:30 p.m.
