From Mexico City : Private Wine & Cheese Tour to Queretaro
Join our private 12h tour from Mexico City to learn about wine & cheese traditions of Queretaro State, the second most famous wine region in Mexico, and visit Bernal - a "Magical Town" famous for its beautiful colonial architecture and 3d biggest monolith in the world.
Itinerary
In the morning, meet your guide at your accommodation in Mexico City & head to Quesos VAI artisanal cheese farm - one of the most representative and famous in the region. There you will get acquainted with all stages of the cheese production and try some of the most typical local varieties.
Afterward, we will go to a nearby "Magic Town" of Bernal where we will admire the grandeur of the huge monolith of the Peña de Bernal and have a captivating slow-pace orientation walk around its historic center, visiting its main attractions, wandering its beautiful streets, trying local delicacies & passing by its colorful handicrafts markets.
Then, we will visit De Cote - probably one of the most modern & exclusive wineries in the region that produces a variety of premium world-class wines. There, accompanied by a professional guide, you will walk around vineyards, learn about all stages of wine production, see how the fermentation process works, visit its extensive cellar & try several most representative local wines together with a local sommelier. After the tour, you will have free time for an optional lunch on the terrace of the winery's restaurant that is famous for its great view and exquisite author cuisine.
After the winery, we will head to Bocanegra - a renowned cheese cellar that matures and refines cheeses of different flavours, textures, and maturation times. There we will have a guided tour inside the cellar at a depth of 5 m, with an explanation of the maturation methods and types of cheeses, tasting of 6 types of cheeses accompanied by artisan bread, olives, honey, fruit and paired with a glass of wine from the region. After a cheese tour and some free time to enjoy the views of the surrounding valley, return to our vehicle & relax on the way back to your accommodation in Mexico City.

• Departure time & location: The default departure time for this tour is 7:30 am but it can be also slightly adjusted per your request. Our guide will meet/pick you up at the requested time & might need to contact you by phone, so please kindly provide a valid phone number during your booking.
• Transport: Complimentary pick-up/drop-off is included: please indicate the exact time & location for your pick-up during your booking (e.g. in the "Special Requirements" field). That is to say, we can pick you up from the following parts of Mexico City: Polanco, Condesa, Roma, Centro Historico. Other more remote locations might involve an extra fee.
• Tour duration & customisation: The standard duration of the tour counts from the moment of a meetup till the end of the tour. On the other hand, the tour is customisable which means we can adjust the time you spend in each destination. For example, if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) fits the default duration of the tour & (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route.
