Bastakiya Heritage Area, Souks Walking Tour in Dubai
After Dubai hotel pickup, travel into the city’s oldest quarters by climate-controlled minivan. Hear about Dubai’s roots as a fishing port, and enter Deira’s Gold Souk, a covered gold, silver, and platinum market. Peruse the glittering shops before delving into the nearby Spice Souk, absorbing the aromas and colors of the stalls. Continue to Dubai’s Al Bastakiya heritage area, dating from the 19th century. Hear about the area’s history as an enclave of pearl merchants, and admire the restored wind towers and courtyards.
