Countryside Bike Tour
Discover the Countryside around Amsterdam with a Local Guide Rates Adults (€43) Ages 18+ Children (€39) Ages 12-17 Duration 3.5 to 4 Hours Distance 20 km (13 miles) Cycling experience is required for our tours! Our guides cannot take you or send you back if you do not have enough experience on the bike. This is for the safety of you and the rest of the group. About Our tour takes you under the Rijksmuseum, through Amsterdam's famous Vondelpark, along the Amstel River beyond the edge of town and through the polder landscape with its rectilinear ditches and dikes. We cycle from the city centre into the countryside. We’ll show you one of the few remaining authentic windmills and visit an eccentric Dutch farmer at his cheese farm/clog factory. At the farm, they will demonstrate the traditional art of making wooden shoes and famous Gouda cheese. Afterwards, you’ll be able to have a look around in their little gift shop and taste some free samples of authentic Dutch cheese. On the way there, we’ll also pass by a cool community of houseboats and see how it has transformed from a hippie community to one that’s loved by the upper class. And we will go through the famous lowlands under sea level.
