Details:

This wonderful full day tour begins with a pick up at your location in Anchorage. A scenic drive along the foothills of the Chugach Mountains will bring us to the rolling farmland of the Mat-Su Valley. Next we begin the climb into the stunning Talkeetna Mountains. We will soon leave the scenery of the boreal forest and enter the magical land of the alpine tundra. This is a mostly treeless landscape with beautiful views around every corner. Explore the ruins of the once thriving Independence Gold Mine and learn about the history of gold exploration in Alaska. After an included lunch stop at a local eatery we will make an optional visit to the Musk Ox Farm. Here we will learn about these amazing animals and Qiviut, the warmest natural fiber in the world! A scenic drive along the Chugach Mountains will bring us back to Anchorage with memories and photos to last a lifetime.
