The cliff-top plateaus stretch for as far as the eye can see and the deep gorges that slice through the mountains are the making of the white-water rapids of the Colorado River that runs 1,450 miles across America on its way to the Gulf of California in the northwest region of Mexico. Unlike the Grand Canyon, the dam is not the work of Mother Nature - well, not entirely but the Black Canyon derives its water from the Lower Colorado River and to this day feeds hydroelectricity to Nevada, Arizona and California. The dam was constructed during the depression years from 1930 - 1936 and remains America’s largest hydroelectric scheme.
Within Vegas, days can be filled shopping at the huge warehouse outlets were high-end fashion clothes and accessories along with the latest in hi-tech innovations are sold at bargain-basement prices. Visitors often arrive with empty suitcases intent on filling them before they go home. Shopping on this scale requires a lot of energy and to boost your juices for more spending you’ll find some pretty interesting eating spots on and off the main drag. So remember to fuel up before you head off to the outlets.
