Montevideo, the capital of the Uruguay Republic, has more than two and a half centuries of existence. Once home to a Spanish citadel, the city revolves around Plaza de la Independencia. The towering Palacio Salvo and neoclassical performance hall Solis Theatre adds to the beauty of this major city capital. Art deco buildings, colonial homes and landmarks leading to Ciudad Vieja (the old town). The old port market filled with many steakhouses, known as Mercado del Puerto is again one of the tourist attractions. Come along with Gray Line and explore the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo.

Itinerary

The tour starts with a short boat ride across the Rio de la Plata. Once in Montevideo, you will have a guided city tour of Montevideo. On this tour, you will get to see the most important monuments in Montevideo with several stops to take pictures. You will also visit the oldest part of the city where you will find a large number of cultural centres and museums which feature new paintings and photography expositions all the time. After learning about the history of Montevideo, you will have some free time to enjoy lunch or continue exploring.
