This tour is made for the ones that wish to experience the local culture of Santorini! Santorini Road Trips will guide you through diverse and local villages. Your excursion starts by visiting the Akrotiri Archeological Site. Our guide will share with you the amazing history of the lost “Atlantis” and involve you with our local customs. In our next stop, you will learn about Santorini’s famous cherry tomato: which is thicker-skinned, sweeter and larger than the garden variety because of the island’s volcanic soil and the lack of water.
Visit the old Tomato Factory D. Nomikos in Vlychada, transformed into a modern Industrial Museum that offers you a retrospection, following the cultivation & production process of one of the most famous and traditional products of the island. You will then discover the amazing Megalochori, a traditional settlement, where you may taste the most delicious food on the island and experience local people’s lifestyles and cave residencies.
At the end of our tour, we will taste the flavour of the island, visiting a small vineyard, which was abandoned since the 1956’s earthquake: Hatzidakis Winery. In Hatzidakis winery you get to taste a selection of 3 wines of your preference, Assyrtiko, Nikteri and Vinsanto.
