During this private 10h tour from Cancun & Riviera Maya, we will visit impressive Tulum & Coba pre-hispanic ruins, swim in one of the most beautiful cenotes in the region, have a typical Yucatecan lunch, and learn about local culture in a traditional Mayan village.
Itinerary
In the morning, meet your guide at your accommodation in Riviera Maya and head to Tulum. Once there, leisurely explore the archaeological zone with your guide seeing its unique prehispanic structures, and enjoying the rugged coastline and a brilliant white-sand beach. Afterward, go to Cobá to walk along its ceremonial avenues, climb up ancient mounds and ascend the state’s tallest pyramid for a spectacular view of the surrounding jungle. Surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, this previously great Mayan city will add Indiana Jones vibes to your day. A lot of ruins there are still undiscovered and represent mysterious piles of root- and vine-covered stones.
Them, after a traditional Yucatan-style lunch, we will go to Cenote Tankach-ha. Literally meaning “deep water” in Mayan, this sinkhole reaches depths of up to 35m (114ft) and offers several jumping platforms for adrenaline lovers. For those who are less adventurous, there are two wood platforms that provide easy access to the water and a refreshing swim in this big cave cenote.
After Tulum, Coba & cenote, continue your tour in a local open-air museum to see how indigenous Mayans live. A local guide will take you through the village and explain everything from food preparation, pottery, and building to hunting, honey production, agriculture, Mayan medicine, and much more. You will be able to make your own pottery and tortillas, which you can also eat later with some eggs and village produced vegetables and sauce. Complimentary pickup & drop-off from Riviera Maya (Cancun-Tulum zone) is included: please indicate the exact time & location for your pick-up during your booking (e.g. in the "Special Requirements" field).
TOUR DURATION & CUSTOMIZATION
The standard duration of the tour counts from the moment of pickup till drop-off. At the same time, the tour is customisable which means we can adjust the time you spend in each destination. Also, if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) fits the default duration of the tour & (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route.
