San Francisco to Muir Woods, Sonoma Wine Tour plus Sausalito
Your tour begins with morning pickup at your San Francisco hotel. Accompanied by your guide and small group, head out of the city and across the Golden Gate Bridge, with views of Alcatraz and the city skyline on the right and the outstretched Pacific Ocean to the left. Admire the hills of the Marin Headlands as you approach Muir Woods (entry own expense), and feel the scenery begin to change from urban metropolis to old-growth forest. As you explore the redwood-lined trails, take in the scents and sounds of this incredible living museum. Crane your neck to spot the tops of these ancient redwoods, which run up to 250 feet (76 meters). After exploring, hop back into your vehicle and travel to Wine Country for an afternoon of tastings. For lunch, pop into a winery or over to the historic Sonoma Plaza (meal own expense). Then, make stops at three Napa and Sonoma wineries to sample a variety of premium wines. Take in one last beautiful view of San Francisco from the Marin Headlands on your way back. Your tour concludes with early-evening drop-off back at your hotel.
