Private Great Ocean Road Day Tour
Spend the day on the spectacular Great Ocean Road in the comfort and intimacy of this genuine small group tour. We depart later than most other tours to avoid the crowds and those pesky big busses.
On this private tour we do the exact same tour as the standard one day Great Ocean Road tour, we visit all the same spectacular sights while always trying to avoid the crowds. This is a great option for groups of friends or family to see the sights with the convenience of a private charter.
If you are staying in the City, Docklands, Southbank or the inner suburbs of Melbourne we will pick you up from the door of your accommodation then head down to the town of Anglesea at the beginning of the great ocean road for a refreshing morning tea with biscuits and cake. The tour then heads down one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world climaxing at the breathtaking 12 Apostles.
We stop in the beautiful town of Apollo Bay for lunch where you can choose from many different cafes and restaurants (at own cost) or alternatively bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic by the sea.
This private option does not include dinner. A traditional Aussie pub meal can be included as an optional extra per person or alternatively we can stop in town and you can choose from several fast food options. If you want the Pub meal included, just click the "extras" option when booking.
This is a full day tour, about 13 hours so its a good idea to be prepared. Make sure your camera/phone is fully charged because the Great Ocean Road is a photographers paradise, both professional and amateur. A full bottle of water is also recommended as is sunscreen and good walking shoes. The Great Ocean Road can also have very changeable weather, tours run all year round but it can be cold during the winter months (June to August) so some warm clothes and jacket/raincoat is highly recommended. Even in summer the wind can be quite chilly at times as it blows of the wild southern ocean, so again, be prepared. We like to say that there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing choices!!
Tours return to Melbourne City approximately between 9 - 9.30pm in Winter and 9.30 - 10pm in summer. We will happily drop you off at your accommodation.
